How Coaches Can Monitor Client Progress Remotely Using Coach Catalyst

One of the most frequent questions we hear from business owners is,

“Is Coach Catalyst the best coaching software to scale my business?”

Today, we get to answer that question and more. But don’t take it from me. Meet Jennifer Broxterman, CEO of NutritionRx.

Jennifer is a Registered Dietitian who founded NutritionRx in 2010. Her organization encourages people to build a happy and healthy relationship with food through habit-based behavior change, mindset shifts, and creating supportive environments. Over the years, she’s worked with thousands of people, ranging from everyday folks to NHL hockey players and Olympic athletes, supporting their healthy eating and performance goals.

I recently sat down with Jennifer to discuss her journey and how she used Coach Catalyst to scale her business. Let’s dig in.

Brian: Hey, Jennifer! Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to chat with me. Trevor and Kane have told me so much about you.

It sounds like NutritionRx is crushing it right now and has grown more in recent years. But twelve years is a long time to run and operate a successful business, so many kudos to you.

How would you say Coach Catalyst helped bring your business to the next level?

Jennifer: Thanks, Brian! Twelve years flew by, and I’m excited for many more.

Trevor and Kane are easily some of the best business owners I’ve had the pleasure of working with. They’re heavily involved in the growth of their business and are always available to answer questions and support my growth. You won’t find that level of service anywhere else in this industry.

I could talk about those two forever, but to your question.

NutritionRx is both a brick-and-mortar and online business. So we have staff working online and in-person. In addition, we treat patients in a more clinical setting [e.g., working with folks overcoming eating disorders] and clients looking for some help with tweaking their nutrition habits. So, we needed something that could be accessible to anyone, anywhere, regardless of their goals.

Coach Catalyst made our organization process significantly better. In the past, we tried storing all of our information in Google Docs, but it was a logistical nightmare considering how large our staff is and how many clients we oversee. We still have to chart some clinical information in person, but most of our work is in the Coach Catalyst app. It’s a game-changer to have our staff and clients all on the same page.

Plus, we can easily keep track of hundreds of clients’ progress by looking at the Coach Catalyst dashboard. It’s super simple to use but gives us everything we need to know to help our clients see results.

Now, we can keep up with the demands of our ever-growing business. Scaling is no longer an anxiety-ridden hurdle but something we’re looking forward to tackling head-on. It feels good to be here.

Brian: I love it! Nothing is stopping you now; the sky is the limit, and I’m excited to see where y’all end up.

I know you work with Precision Nutrition on occasion. Did you happen to check out their ProCoach app at all?

Jennifer: I love Precision Nutrition. JB [Dr. John Berardi] is one of my favorite people on the planet. So when ProCoach came out, I gave it a shot right away.

I have nothing but the best things to say about Precision Nutrition as an organization, but ProCoach didn’t really fit our needs. NutritionRx is a very hands-on coaching business that requires tons of customization. Unfortunately, ProCoach's system is a little too fixed, given the diversity of clients we're serving from healthy eating and weight loss coaching, to IBS symptom management, to eating disorder recovery work.

Coach Catalyst is completely customizable, so we were able to curate better programs and more customized options for our client and coaching needs. For instance, I created multiple coaching programs we sell on the NutritionRx website, all of which are housed within Coach Catalyst. Even better, it’s white labeled, so everything about the course and program is on-brand with NutritionRx.

I think ProCoach is helpful for someone with limited nutrition coaching experience. However, Coach Catalyst offers much more variety and creativity in the coaching process. And those are necessities for the success and growth of our business.

Brian: Makes perfect sense, Jennifer. I also love that you can use Coach Catalyst to create habit-based programs for every client’s need.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Jennifer: Absolutely. Coach Catalyst struck the perfect balance of utility without bells and whistles. The app gives you everything you need to grow and scale your business without adding any fluff. It’s hard to find another coaching app that does that.

"Ultimately, we don’t want to sacrifice results or our coaching process just to make more money."

Ultimately, we don’t want to sacrifice results or our coaching process just to make more money. We still want to be the most hands-on, customized coaching business in the market. Coach Catalyst allows us to do that and more, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to scale their business.

Brian: Powerful words, Jennifer. Thanks so much for your time. I’m pumped to see where NutritionRx ends up in the next few years. Keep up the incredible work!

Over the years, we’ve watched hundreds of businesses like Jennifer’s grow and scale to places they didn’t think were possible. And you could be next.
