Building A Better Community

There's a saying in business, "culture over everything." In essence, the success of your business is heavily tied to the culture you cultivate within it. Don't believe me? Look no further than CrossFit. Fitness pros might have mixed feelings about CrossFit's training methods, but you can't knock the community that CrossFit was able to amass over the last decade.

A strong community bolsters client adherence, generates referrals, and builds better relationships among staff and members. So, it's essential to create a community within your business.

For the longest time, Facebook groups have been used to create communities in brick-and-mortar and online businesses. However, Coach Catalyst has something to say about that. So, if you're looking for a Facebook group alternative, Coach Catalyst is where it's at.

Facebook Groups Work, But...

Facebook is still one of the biggest platforms where communities with shared interests organize. You can find a Facebook group for practically anything. Want to sell or trade gym equipment? Facebook has a group (and marketplace) for that. Want to find other fitness pros in your area? There's a Facebook group for that, too.

Facebook groups work, but there are downsides. First and foremost, Facebook ultimately has control of your groups. You may be the owner of your Facebook group, but technically, Facebook can shut your group down or have a say in the content you decide to post. Furthermore, Facebook has serious privacy issues (i.e., they collect your data); you can dig into the Cambridge Analytical stuff on the internet for a closer look at that.

So, if you want to have control of your community, its postings, and how clients or members interact, you need to ditch Facebook groups. There are much better Facebook group alternatives with the same (if not better) benefits. Plus, let's not forget: not everyone has a Facebook account anymore (I don't).

The Goal Should Be To Limit Distractions

Let's be honest; social media is the most distracting thing that faces our existence today. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube; pretty much every single social media platform is littered with ads and content to drive our focus away from what matters most. And Facebook is no different.

People use Facebook for all kinds of things (e.g., checking on their friends, reading the news, watching viral videos, selling furniture, etc.) So, if your goal is to drive client interaction and build a community, it behooves you to make your own private group where you have complete control and autonomy, and can limit distractions as much as possible.

Ultimately, the platform you host your community on should be simple to use, easy to access, and allow you to have as much control as possible. So, if you're looking for a Facebook group alternative, we have one for you.

Enter...Communities.

Communities On Coach Catalyst

Communities is the newest feature on Coach Catalyst. It's a fully-customizable group platform that allows you to post updates, workouts, news, or content. It also allows your members or clients to interact with one another, so they can share ideas and thoughts, too. And it's all stored within the app that you coach from: Coach Catalyst.

So, ditch your Facebook group and transition to Coach Catalyst. But, don't take it from us,

"Communities has been a game changer for me! My client engagement has gone up 20x over what it used to be on Facebook. Thank you!"

- Carrie R.
